Bowen Jones' shop 1900 WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Origins of street names in Wotton

The new display at the Wotton Heritage Centre looks at the origins of some of the street and place names in Wotton.

Some are derived from medieval times while others are relatively modern. Photographs and artefacts illustrate a number of the places.

Visitors are invited to take part in a questionnaire. Ten photographs of various buildings are on display and visitors are asked to name the streets where they are to be found.

There are prizes for all correct answers.

The display will run from mid-November 2007 until January 2008 at the Wotton Heritage Centre, The Chipping, Wotton-under-Edge, Glos. GL12 7AD
