Special Event : "Literary Locals"

Wotton Heritage Centre is taking part in the "History Matters - pass it on" campaign This campaign was launched in London in July by a group of organisations who are all concerned with raising interest in history and heritage in every community. Badges and stickers are available at the Heritage Centre and there are four different post cards with questions about "History Matters" to fill in.

You can support the campaign by voting for your favourite historic places. Just text a message to the campaign number (it is on display at the Heritage Centre). Admission to the Centre is free..

During October in support of the "History Matters" campaign there will be a special "extra" display at the Heritage Centre entitled "Literary Locals". This will be a reminder of many of the historians, poets and other writers who lived (or still do live) in and around Wotton under-Edge, plus a few famous names who have visited the area in the past. This display will coincide with the Wotton Literature Festival.
