This display, supported by the Big Lottery Fund, highlights everyday life in Wotton during the war years -1939 - 1945.
The various defence groups - ARP, Home Guard, Fire Brigade, Police etc. - are mentioned as well as military visitors to the town. Health matters and food production, are featured.

Queen Mary, then living at Badminton, paid many visits to Wotton and photographs illustrate her meetings with workers at various industrial sites, at the Red Cross Depot, and also, just after Dunkirk, visiting evacuated troops who were stationed at the Court.

The town welcomed many children as evacuees and there are records of the memories some of them have of living in Wotton. Rationing of all kinds - foods, clothes, petrol etc. - concerned everyone and the appropriate ration books, coupons and descriptions of the quantities allowed are contained in the display. Details are also given of the different groups of people who came to Wotton, either to escape from foreign countries or to work in the area.

The display continues from August until November 2005.
