"Spreading the News "

Wotton Town CrierToday we listen to the radio or watch TV for regular news Bulletins. This display looks at earlier ways of relaying news from Town Criers (Wotton still has one) newsheets and letters, mail coaches and trains, to cinemas, telegrams and telephones. The display features photographs and artefacts from the Historical Society's collection

The display runs from March to June 2011 and is in conjunction with the British Science Association's Science and Engineering week

 

Special Display: "'Wedding Bells"

A special display at Wotton heritage centre which will run from mid-April to July 2011. Photographs of Wotton weddings from the 19t''. Century to the present day will be on show with other wedding memorabilia. There will also be wedding outfits and dresses on display dating from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Opening hours: Tuesdays to Fridays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m, to 4 p.m. Saturdays: mornings only

While admission to the Museum is FREE donations, however small, are always very welcome.
