A Blue Plaque Tour of Gloucestershire: Poets, Pioneers and Performers!

Gloucestershire has a host of blue plaques to sons and daughters of the county as well as to those who chose to settle and live here. During his talk, Andy will explore the stories that lie behind the plaques and consider the lives of the people recorded on them. Amongst them, we’ll discover the inventor of the vacuum cleaner, the inspiration for Long John Silver in Treasure Island and the creators of the second most popular beverage in India!

When not researching the past, Andy has worked as a head teacher, actor and storyteller and has recently retired as a bookseller with Waterstones. He has always had a passion for history and hopes his talks will inspire others to delve deeper into the subjects about which he speaks.
